Rachel Beal joined SBH-Raleigh in 2018 as our Chief Administrative Officer.  In her role, Ms. Beal works collaboratively with the SBH-Raleigh Team to ensure strategic priorities are executed and our organization’s focus is aligned with the needs of the communities we serve.

 

Before becoming a member of our hospital team, Ms. Beal was the Chief Operating Officer of Poplar Springs Hospital, a 208-bed psychiatric hospital in the Richmond, VA area.  Prior to Poplar Springs, Ms. Beal served as Area Vice President with Healogics, an international healthcare management company, responsible for clinical and financial operations at hospital partnerships throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut. Her healthcare administration career also includes managing a number of outpatient mental health services for the Wake County Division of Triumph, LLC in North Carolina, where she developed and launched a Spanish-Language service line.

 

A native of Portsmouth, VA, Ms. Beal earned a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Old Dominion University and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill.  Additionally, she completed post-graduate study at Harvard University and maintains the Certified Professional in Healthcare Management credential from McKesson.

Andy Williams, LPC

Clinical Director

Andy Williams joined Strategic Behavioral Center-Garner in 2012. He earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from UNC-Asheville in 2002. Following several years of working with young people in inpatient psychiatric and residential settings, Andy received his Master of Social Work degree from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2007, after which he worked on a grant to develop services for young people transitioning out of the foster care system, followed by four years of clinical work in a large community-based mental health center.

Andy was hired as one of two initial therapists to help open SBC’s Raleigh hospital in October 2012, where he has remained in varying capacities since, working first as a therapist in PRTF, then for several years as this hospital’s assistant clinical director, and since July 2017 has served as the Director of Clinical Services. Andy has a wide range of experience across multiple levels of care in North Carolina’s behavioral health system, having trained in and provided services in such modalities as Functional Family Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Seven Challenges.

In addition, Andy has provided regular clinical supervision for associate-licensed clinical social workers since 2009, and has developed and overseen SBC’s clinical internship program for MSW students in collaboration with NC State and UNC-Chapel Hill since 2014.

Nicole Cole joined Strategic Behavioral Center in May 2018. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Psychology and has worked in mental health for the past 8 years. Nicole has an extensive history with community based services including day treatment and other residential programs. Within the past three years, she has transitioned from direct care to administrative duties such as intake, utilization review and quality assurance. Nicole has also implemented new mental health programs, including PHP and IOP, within local community agencies.

 

As the Call Center Manager for the state of North Carolina, Nicole strives to ensure that all SBH hospitals have a consistent census of patients as well as that all referral sources, families and community stakeholders receive great communication and quality care.

Chief Financial Officer

William Harris, CPA – CFO joined Strategic Behavioral Center-Raleigh in March 2017 after working at Strategic Behavioral Center in Charlotte, NC. William brings over 20 years of healthcare financial experience including psychiatric hospitals, medical / surgical hospitals, physician office management, rehabilitation services provided to nursing homes & SNF’s, outpatient psychiatric clinics and a foster care agency.

Mr. Harris earned his MBA from Centenary College in Shreveport, LA. and his BBA-Accounting from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

 

 

 

Taylor Holloway, M.A.

Director of Utilization Review

 

Taylor Holloway, Director of Utilization Review, joined Strategic Behavioral Center-Raleigh in September 2013 as an assessor and transitioned into her current position as Director of Acute Admissions and UR in 2014. She has 10+ years of experience in mental health working a variety of clinical and research positions. She specializes in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities. Prior to SBH, Taylor worked at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities (CIDD) preforming psychological evaluations and executing research assessment protocols. Taylor received her Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology in 2011 from North Carolina Central University.

Director of Education

 

Carolyn King, Director of Education, joined Strategic Behavioral Center-Raleigh in 2012. She was promoted to Director of Education in April 2016. Carolyn has many years of experience in working to educate children and youth who are experiencing mental health concerns.

Prior to beginning employment at Strategic, Carolyn worked as a School Principal at Spring Hill School and Dorothea Dix Hospital, where she retired in 2009. She also worked as a counselor and a teacher at Dorothea Dix Hospital. Most of her work history has been with clients and children with mental health concerns. Finally, she worked for 10 years with Vocational Rehabilitation. Carolyn truly believes in rehabilitation, a therapeutic learning environment, and that all children have the potential to learn.

Lillian M. Davis, Director of Business Development, joined Strategic Behavior Center in May 2014. In 2015, she was promoted the role of Community Liaison Supervisor and recently into the Director of Business Development for SBC Raleigh and Charlotte. She has 12 years of experience in mental health working a variety of clinical, educational, and business development positions. Prior to working at Strategic Behavioral Center, Lillian worked at NC Mentor as an Intake Coordinator and an Exceptional Children’s Teacher in Johnston County Public Schools. Lillian received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

 As Director of Business Development, Lillian leads a team of Community Liaisons who strives to meet the mental health needs of the community by linking them to the clinical services provided at SBC Garner and Charlotte. 

 

 

Qadriyyah Joyner, MSA

Director of Quality Improvement, Compliance & Risk Management

Qadriyyah Joyner, Director of Quality Improvement, Compliance & Risk, joined Strategic Behavioral Center-Raleigh, in April 2018. She has a Associates Degree in Social Work, Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies, MSA in General Administration. She started a behavioral health career at Nova Behavioral Healthcare, as a member of the Corporate Management Team, worked in compliance, and regulatory.  Her expertise spans over 12 years in behavioral and mental health. She worked for 7  years at Holly Hill Hospital as the Patient Advocate/QA Coordinator and with State of NC, as a patient advocate. Her  knowledge, in Regulatory Compliance and Joint Commission Standards will be value as member of the leadership team.

Lisa Killion

Director of Human Resources

Lisa Killion, Director of Human Resources, joined Strategic Behavioral Health-Garner in September 2017. Lisa has over 15 years of human resource experience working a variety of recruiting, workforce development and management roles. Most recently Lisa worked as an HR director for a multi-location, Joint Commission accredited skilled nursing provider. She has earned the SPHR certification and is a member of the local SHRM chapter.

Lisa’s interest in the behavioral and mental health field has led to involvement with NAMI and the Wake County Guardian ad Litem Program. As Director of Human Resources, Lisa leads the HR team in striving to recruit, support and retain quality staff for Strategic Behavioral Health.

 

 

 

Davien “Gearod” Dupree

Interim Director of Environmental Services

 

Davien Dupree, Director of Environment of Care and Safety begin his career with SBC in July 2013. Previously Davien worked at a 120 bed assisted living facility for 13 years in the heart of Charlotte. Davien comes with numerous experience from Environment of Care standpoint including an EPA Certification.

Davien attended Central Piedmont College where he majored in Electrical Engineering and Graphic Design. His time at SBC has come with a lot of hard work and dedication.
